Living room with couch, tv and small table

Conveniently located

We loved our Airbnb in Spanish Springs, but it was not available for the two weeks we needed a place in January. Our Spanish Springs host very kindly connected us with his sons (who I’m also distantly related to), who put us up in a very similar Airbnb in south Reno.

These homes are built to be multi-generational, with a small apartment that’s connected to the main house but completely private. I love the thoughtfulness that went into these homes. They would be perfect for living with a parent or an adult child.

As an Airbnb, It’s nicely furnished, and our hosts were incredibly responsive, responding within the hour when I had questions. It’s the perfect size for us, with one bedroom and a kitchen table where we can work. The couch is also a pull-out bed if you need more sleeping space. It has a nice size smart TV and tons of amenities throughout (including phone chargers). It also has a ton of storage space, which we very much appreciate as we’re traveling through the world carrying everything we own.

It’s not really set up for cooking, but there is a microwave, double hot plate and Keurig (with complimentary coffee!)

I’ve lived in the Reno area for most of my life, and I’ve always thought the Veterans Parkway area was too far away, but living there for two weeks showed me how convenient it actually is. It’s 20 minutes from downtown and also about 20 minutes from Mount Rose. It snowed when we were there, but it wasn’t nearly as deep (or inconvenient) as when we lived in hilly northwest Reno.
